Countdown to Ignition

This post is in in response to another post on Pastor Rob's blog - AKA http://www.robsingleton.net/ - Lead Pastor @ Southbrook

What Dee and I do is start the morning with a modified Ephesians 6:10-18 declaration like:

Today I put on the full armor of God, shoes of peace, belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword which is the Word. To top it all off we put on our crown of favor that has been given to us by the most high God.

We go on with our day, acting as Christ's personal representatives, we pray together, and then begin the task(s) before us. During the day we may read a devotional, listen to worship music,
(which will be the Return Worship CD after Saturday ; ) or meditate on a piece of the Word. No matter what comes at us we remember Who we belong to, Who we work for, and that He has everything in the palm of his hand. At the end of the day we have been reading our one year
bible, since January 1st (Yay!) and it has grown, strengthened, and deepened our relationship with the Father. I highly recommend getting a copy and starting immediately. It only takes fifteen minutes a day. Here is a link to the one we purchased -
NIV - One Year Bible

As I said, it only takes 15 minutes to read and you get a bit of the old and new testament as well as a psalm and a proverb. Consider it a spiritual value meal. It is quick, easy to read, and you cannot go wrong with the format of how the Word is presented in this one. It is great especially if you struggle with following, comprehending, or actually taking the time to read His Word.

I have heard it said that the most powerful prayer you can pray is “Father, use me to do your will”. If you dare to say it, and mean it with all your being, hold on for the ride of your life. Not saying it is going to be all roses and warm fuzzy puppy dogs, because you will come under attack, but you will be forever changed and His glorious light will shine through you. Rob, tell the staff that we pray with and for them every day, we are with you and the whole team. We can feel the coming explosion about to rock Weddington, Charlotte, the US, and the world. Looks like Southbrook is going to be at the epicenter and I cannot think of a better place to be at this time. Thank you Rob and a ginormous thank you to The Spirit that is moving in our church. We cannot hold it in anymore!
